Do you ever wonder how big of a deal 3G and now 4G really are? Chances are, if you have never had a smart phone, you probably dont know what its all about.
These terms refer to data speeds. It does not affect voice coverage. 2G/1x phones have data speeds of around 50-80 kbps. 3G phones are much faster with speeds around 450-850 kbps. The latest technology is 4G which blows 3G out of the water with speeds of around 2800 kbps and is the future of wireless.
